Golden Globes, Golden Girls

I'm so late in posting this but better late than never right?!I'm abit obsessed with rich pastels at the moment so the peach/creamy orange of Emma Stone's Calvin Klein dress is just divine to me, she looks RADIANT.. like a sorbet!
I cant help but big up Leighton Meester's Burberry gown, the styling [hello Jimmy Choo heels!], the thigh-high split and her dewy make-up make the look really young and sexy..
I'm thinking Leighton is looking like pralines and cream!
beautiful!

Pre-Fall Pinks

We're hardly halfway through this winter and we're already getting indications of what we need for the next, which really excites me because the pretty, brights of the Pre-Fall 2011 collections are helping me forget the steady drizzle of rain outside. Trend-wise I'm thinking the future's bright.. the future's pink! Before I talk about my loves, I have to mention Simone Rocha's S/S 11 collection which I saw back in September at the Fashion East show. Usually I hate pink but the gauzy fabrics and splashes of pink really complimented her all-white, clinical collection, and made it look feminine and romantic.
anywehhdoh back to the matter at hand, the Pre-Fall Pinks from flouro to blush are gorgeous and in total contrast to what we usually see for A/W which is exciting!
side note: that Derek Lam maxi is absolutely completely perfect for my day to day GentleWoman activities ..I wish a pox on whatever trust-fund baby get's to wear this to prom!
London's gloomy weather needs to hurry and be over so I can run with this pink thing from spring, all through summer, and to the end of the next dreary winter!
..nails pink, blouse pink, everything pink..
oh you fancy huh..?

Progress Not Perfection

I've recently been spending alot of time meditating over purpose and how I'm supposed to go about fulfilling mine now that I'm a gentlewoman. After all the craziness and New Year hype, I think sometimes you can go through a momentum-dip when you lose focus of all the little things because all the big things you're trying to achieve start to look insurmountable.. Dreaming big is scary when you have the freedom/means to turn the dreams into reality, but here's hoping a dose of FaceFront-aration and eye on the prize-cisation will hold us all in good stead!

I came across this story a while back on Fashion Gone Rogue, every time I see it, it speaks to the Working Girl within..

D.I.Y.

I love shopping as much as the next person, but monetarily and emotionally it's revealed itself to be a habit i simply CANNOT afford to indulge anymore. I decided to forgo the big sales shop this season, after last year's trips left me wasteful, unappreciative and majorly depressed about my Christmas weight (bka the baby-weight I've yet to drop despite being 22 o_O).. okay so I say forgo, and what I really mean is I stuck to a money limit and just shopped online instead! One of the few actual-real-life shop purchases are these here New Look wedges that I fell in love with, A.because I don't actually own any plain leather wedges, and B.because they were like £7! Anywhooo idle hands meant that they presented themselves as a DIY challenge..

J.Cole

I imagine going to gigs is harder for Londoners than most people in other metropoli because of London's size, we get so excited for US acts, everyone who thinks they're someone rocks up dressed to the nines, pretending not to know that the next 2hours of their lives will result in profuse sweating due to the inevitable overexertion of 'hip hop hand', therefore ruining their garms.
I had the worst experience at a Slum Village concert a year ago so I decided I'm better off enjoying hip hop through my headphones or on the dancefloor in the clurrrb, but I've been listening to J.Cole since  he released The Warm Up so I made the exception and boy was he worth it!!

But back to the matter at hand, the feeling I get from Grown Simba is out of control, with every listen it edges ever closer to replacing Jay-Z's Can I Live on my all-time faves list!
"something like Serena mixed with Trina have you seen her?"

The Gentlewoman

Happy New Year m'lords and ladies! I would like to decree that this is the year of the Gentlewoman,
Def.

gentle·woman (jent'l wo̵om′ən)
noun pl. gentlewomen -·wom′en (-wim′in)
  1. OBSOLETE a woman born into a family of high social standing; lady
  2. a courteous, gracious, considerate woman
  3. HISTORICAL a woman in attendance on a lady of rank
Origin: ME gentil womman

My goal as a Gentlewoman is to remain positive and producing as opposed to negative an consuming at all times. I have faith that the next time I'm saying happy new year I'll be doing it with a bunch of amazing accomplishments under my chastity belt!
I've began as I mean to go on with a trip to Claridge's for tea, champagne, scones and cucumber sammiches.. if this isn't the perfect example of gentlewoman tings then i don't know what is guys..
I know if i'm steadfast in my gentlewomanity, by the end of the year i'll be a real-life, self-made Serena Van Der Woodsen (bar all the fuckery she's always embroiled in..)
"man why cant life always be this easy?"
