Cruel Summer

As per usual summer in London is turning out to be a washout and for once this really pleases my soul because I get to wear baggy clothes and hide the fact that I've put on what feels like a tonne of weight since March.. I only have myself to blame because as it happens I wore this to a feast for two with my mumma last week, she bought me the most amazing lamb-shank my taste buds have ever known!!

Resort 2012

It's hard not to compile a mass post of images when collection time comes around, lucky for you I've exercised some restraint and picked my fave resort collections for you to digest, mmkay..

Celine: the blazer on look 1 is everything, the collective silhouette is everything, the colours are everything.
Stella Mccartney : the cut of these pants makes me want to cry and the super crisp tailored jackets, I will say no more.
Theysken's Theory : fit, colours, fabrics, general vibe of awesomeness

ps.also love the tailoring at Gucci

Simple Things

I'm a little bit obsessed with peach silk at the moment, I'm usually not the biggest fan of silk because it's such a nuisance, but I walked into the fabric shop the other day and fell in love with the peachy silk I ended up using for the skirt below, I'm planning on getting some more for an outfit for my bestie's wedding in July!! Anyone been up to anything fun recently? I've been spending most of my time trying to finish reading Lolita and A Farewell To Arms before I start reading Anna Karenina..

Socks and Sandals

Yay for all these silly little DIYs I busy myself with all the time, like these wedges that I bought out of boredom and pizzazed-up with some leopard print fabric (literally stuck the fabric on the wedges with superglue). First wear of the summer for the wedges and umpteenth wear of this denim on denim combo.. I'm so uninspired right now, all I want to wear is a white t-shirt with some skinnies and smart flats or functional heels.

Imaginary Set: Glamour Women Of The Year Awards

I have to be honest, the Glamour Women Of The Year awards boggle my mind a little, what exactly is the winning criteria? what does one have to do to qualify as the woman of the year in her chosen field? Is it about getting the most exposure? Getting the fattest cheque? or maybe being the chic-est whilst doing your job? I really don't get it, but you know what? It's not for me to 'get' or to fritter over because any shindig that manages to get these three men in the same room at once is worthy of all the glory!
Okay back to the matter at hand, what my spirit wore to the awards the other night.. I wanted no part of a colour-blocked outfit, muted tones all the waaaay..

Wednesday Adams

I find it a bit ironic that I found this dress unworn and seemingly unloved, hiding under some jumpers in my wardrobe a day after reading Love Aesthetics' post about conspicuous consumption?! Gosh-errrr her experiment made me think about the amount of stuff I buy online and never actually wear out. I recently made the decision that unless I see an item I've been wanting/ needing/ looking for, for some time, I wont be buying anything new.. I think the fact that I don't remember ordering, receiving or hanging up this dress (?_?) is pretty much all the persuasion I need to stop spending money on things I want but don't need. That being said, I paired it with my *cough* new *cough* leopard creepers that I LOVEEEE (they were on saaaaale and they were the last pair in my size!)

Pot Of Gold

After a few years spent chilling in my closet, I finally decided to put this jacket to use and wear it out yesterday.. it's one of those things I always reach for but never commit to wearing because it's a touch too showy for me, but I figured I'd just throw it on top of a super basic outfit and pretend it's perfectly normal to walk around in a gold lamé jacket. I've decided I like it enough not to send it back to the charity shop, but deep down I know I'd exchange it for a chocolate milkshake any day (preferably a large Oreo Krushem, but as long as the beverage involves milk, chocolate syrup and crushed ice you can have the stupid jacket.)
